Is it time to rewire?
Wiring does not last forever. Rubber and early PVC insulation breaks down with age, older installations often have no RCD protection, and most homes now use far more electricity than their wiring was designed for. A rewire replaces the cables, sockets, switches and fuse board so your home is safe and ready for modern life.
Because a rewire is a big job, we plan it in detail before we start. We walk through the property with you, agree where every socket, switch and light goes, and give you a fixed price and a realistic timeline.
What a rewire includes
- New cabling throughout the areas being rewired
- New sockets, switches and light fittings where agreed, including extra sockets and USB points
- A new consumer unit with RCD protection
- Smoke and heat alarms installed to current guidance

Keeping disruption low
We protect floors and furniture, work room by room where possible and tidy up at the end of every day. If you are living in the property during the work, we will plan around you so you are never without power overnight unless agreed in advance.
Full or partial?
Not every home needs a full rewire. If part of your installation is in good condition, a partial rewire of the problem circuits can be the better value option. We will tell you honestly which one your home needs.

How long does a rewire take?
It depends on the size of the property, access and whether the home is occupied. We give you a timeline with your quote so you can plan around it.
Can I stay in my home during a rewire?
Usually yes. We plan the work in stages so you keep power in the evenings wherever possible, and we tidy up at the end of each day.
Will there be damage to walls and floors?
Some chasing of walls and lifting of floorboards is normally needed. We keep it to a minimum, make good the chases ready for decoration and relay floorboards.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Every rewire is fully tested and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate. The work is also notified to building control.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. We visit the property, assess the job and give you a clear fixed price with no obligation.
